ETHAN YANG – U.S. YOUTH SENATE DELEGATE RECOGNIZED AT STATE CAPITOL
This past week, the legislature celebrated Education Week at the State Capitol. Recognized are our very own Ethan Yang for being selected as one of two U.S. Senate Youth Delegates to Washington D.C., and Principal Kevin Dias of Koko Head Elementary for being selected as a Blue Ribbon School. Hoʻomaikaʻi!

Here is statement from Lt. Gov., Sylivia Luke:
“Earlier this month, Ethan Yang, our student body president, showcased his leadership on a national stage as one of two Hawaii delegates to the United States Senate Youth Program in Washington D.C. Among 103 of the nation’s most distinguished students, Ethan engaged with top government officials including the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, a Supreme Court Justice, and Hawaii’s own U.S. Senators Schatz and Hirono. These interactions provided him with a deeper understanding of public service and the intricacies of governmental operations.

Ethan’s selection also earned him a $10,000 scholarship. His achievements were recognized at the state level during education week, with commendations from the Hawaii House of Representatives, Senate, and Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke.
